daddy-daughter dates never get old
from the time i was in grade school until i graduated and left for college, i had a weekly lunch date with my daddy. he would pick me up from school and take me out to lunch, just the two of us…oh, how special i felt! even with three kids in our family who each got the weekly one-on-one, i don’t remember him ever skipping a date.
i cannot say enough about how excellent my dad is…so i won’t even try. beyond the cliche, words are really not sufficient to describe someone who is the perfect example of everything that is admirable in a man, husband, and father.
he is unwaveringly loving, supportive, selfless, kind, generous, slow to anger, fun-loving, adventurous, creative, encouraging, serving, honest, wise, and faithful. even when rattled with the life-altering loss of his soul-mate of 40 years, his best qualities came out stronger than ever. he is certainly building a legacy for his current and future grandchildren. i’ve never met anyone else whose positive traits show through seemingly 100% of the time. and i spend a lot of time with the man.
and that is something i am so grateful for — continued dates with my daddy. except now i get more than lunch. we’ve had awesome opportunities for extended road trips and exciting destinations in the past few years.
